About time I joined in and got a little more serious about my truck and getting it back in better shape. What I have is a 54 3600 that used to belong to my father. My father passed back in 2005 and at that time I bought the truck from my mom. It was rough but drive-able then. Time has gotten away from me and while I have always had the truck insured, the last card I actually had in the truck was from 2008 and I had not even started it since then.

The bright side.. I pumped all the old gas out here a few weeks ago, installed a new battery, ran some emery cloth against the points and with a little hint of starter fluid it started right up! Aired up the one tire that was low and drove it from my house where it sat outside all this time to where my wife and I live and it's now very welcomed on our drive. I have since changed the oil, fixed the brake light switch and am currently looking for new wheels and tires. We start it and drive it around the neighborhood every few days.

Hopefully I won't be outcast here due to the fact that this truck had been modified some. The deal is my father had done some work for a company in the little town where he lived and in trade this company put on a hydraulic flat dump bed. Pretty dang handy to run brush to the recycle center and just hit the switch, dump and go.

So it's been somewhat trying to find just what wheels fit "properly" ... but I think I'm getting close after finding more information online today.

I see that pics are not allowed for insertion into posts and I have a ton of pics so I'll select a site to upload to then make a post or gallery in the appropriate location so others can look if they like.

Got to say the wife (7 years senior to the truck) and myself (6 years younger than the truck) are tickled to drive it around even though there's not much comfort in it right now.
I had a guy that really wanted this truck and would leave notes in it regularly and I even considered selling it but my wife (bless her heart) has always convinced me to hold on to it and now we are glad that I did.

Sorry to be so long winded with what should of been a simple "hello to the forum I'm a newbie" but hey there's always a story right??
Looking forward to sharing what I can and of course extracting some grey matter from the gurus <grin>.
