the one that was on my 55 2-ton was wood with a steel band around the perimeter. The band had a bit of a lip on the top and bottom so it was more like a piece of channel (but not real beefy). Sorry, I don't have any real good pics of it. I am sure someone else will come along that has some good ones of one similar to what should be on yours.
