I found the list I was referring to and it wasn't as long as I thought it was. Anyway I read on another forum someone said a Ford 9 inch third member would fit this stock 54 chevy axle housing and give you a yolk for an open drive shaft. I am 99%percent sure thats not true but has anyone ever heard of this? For me keeping the existing axle with brakes and everything and just getting a different third member would be ideal. It seems like very people even talk about this as an option. I heard an early 55 third member would fit the axle. Does anyone know would any other years fit? Would a car differential fit? It seems like car parts are much more common than truck parts. Thanks again | | |
