Spacer washer is to the outside of the spring. The Forgings are the same for
the ¾ thru 2-ton trucks but the springs are different width, that’s the reason
for the spacer. 1 1/2 & 2-ton had 2 1/2" wide springs.
This truck was all original when I bought it. Talked to the original owners
about what had been done to it over the years and the springs are the
ones it came with.

http://www.pbase.com/dennygraham/image/166164954 But.....getting the U-bolt nuts off was a bear and that took me most
of the afternoon. Had to unscrew them 1/6 of a turn at a time with a
extra-long breaker bar. Even the ¾’ drive earthquake impact wouldn’t
budge them with 1200 ft. lb. of torque. Thought that would have twisted
the bolts off it the nuts got stuck.
Now that the rear pin is out, just have to figure out how to get the front
one.
Almost positive I’m gonna have to pull the running board aprons.
So…..that’s one dang near out. Looks like I’ll be spending the rest of
the weekend on this project.
