So, I took the master cylinder off of my 58 Viking 6500. It has a 1 1/2 inch bore. Ordered the rebuild kit. Couldn't find a new master. Go figure. You would think I'd be used to that by now. Fortunately it is in good condition. The bore looks good. The reservoir has some light rust inside. I would like to dip it in Evaporust to clean. However, I don't know if the Evaporust would have an adverse effect on the bore. Any one have experience with this,or suggestions? Also, if the bore is still nice is it necessary to hone the surface before the rebuild?
