Building a 216 may not be the best to learn how to build motors. Non pressurized, dipper, babbitt bearing motors are not worth the effort except to a purist. Learn on a 235 or V8. UNLESS you want to learn a dying art for some reason.

DIY rebuild cost $1800+. Resale value after rebuild, if you can find a buyer, $500 (ball park figures/ratios using search on Stovebolt)
