Question to all: I have 58 Fleetside that I have been upgrading to disc brakes. Due to problems with the supplier, the truck has set in my garage for the last month and a half. Here is the issue: when getting the truck ready for test drive, first the rubber hose feed from tank to fuel line started spraying...I figured old rubber rotted out, no big deal, and replaced. After truck started for 2 minutes, the other rubber feed hose from fuel lie to pump sprouted as well. Replaced that. Started truck, ran for 5 minutes, then fuel started pouring out of carburetor gasket to base, and then truck would not run. Is it a coincidence that all rubber parts failing at once? Gas was new gas, truck was garaged the last 2 months...it has set outside since 1987 with no problems like this ever...any ideas? After I rebuild the carb, are there any other fuel related rubber parts that I am forgetting?
