I am not a body-man, but I have painted aluminum before. It was prepared in a conventional manner...sanded, cleaned and painted. It never came off, looked fine and was just as durable as any metal that had been painted.
This would be 'especially' true to a interior item. If I were going to paint my AlumaWeld drift boat, I would probably get a touch more technical with my coating!
