For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 311 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 311 | I would like to remove my rear spring pins and check them and the shackle for damage. I am reading in the manual that you need a J-1436 Axle shaft bearing and oil seal remover, as well as J-1436-9 Shackle pin remover adapter. I searched the archives and only found information pertaining to the smaller trucks with the cinch thread not bolt clevis and plain bushing that the big bolts have. One member mentioned a hole through the frame where you could use a drift to get them out. The J-1436 tool looks little like a dent puller/slide hammer, has anyone made a tool to get them out? Thanks, Curt | | |
