I had a few roof projects on metal buildings around the place, and needed something to stabilize ladders besides my 110# better half. I found this gadget on the web. It is designed to go in your pickup's receiver hitch. I have a receiver hitch bolted to the bucket of my tractor with grade 8 hardware that I use for a boom, to pull trailers around the place, and various other attachments. I welded 2 pcs of angle iron to the receiver hitch for more stability and it works like a charm. Changing flood lights, Christmas decorations, tree trimming, etc. For me the sketchy part of ladder work is moving from the ladder to the roof, this solves that problem. It's not for everybody, if you don't like ladders don't get one. They are a little pricey, but I paid for it today when I replaced the skylight panels on the horse barn.
