I just finished converting my truck to a 12 volt system with a generator. I did it mainly for the headlight improvement. For the headlights I used a reflector type setup with an H4 bulb. When they are off they look very similar to the original sealed beams. They perform almost like a modern car headlight. The high beams are really exceptional. I bought them from Octane Lighting and they fit right into the pot without a problem. You can get the same performance with a six volt bulb that they sell. However, at 65 watts, you would want a relay to supply the lights.
