Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 48 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 48 | I traded some junk I had for back up engine that I'm pretty sure is a 235 from a 55 2nd series. But I'm not 100% sure as some of the numbering has me confused. The engine block has the number 022977IT557 behind the distributor and the number 3836233 cast into the engine. The casting code leads me to believe it is from 55-57. The distributor number leads me to a 55. But what does the "IT" stand for.
On the head the outside casting number is 3835913 with GM7 under it. Inside under the valve cover has Con12 and D150.
Am I on the right track to thinking this is a 55 second series engine? Any help much appreciated! | | |
