If I'm correct here, you should have a red/pink wire to the gauge and a green going to the sending unit on the top of the head. The only "tube" would be for the oil pressure gauge. That is how my 59 is set up and I actually have the IP pulled away from the dash as we speak. Hope this helps, let us know!
