The other ideal consideration for steering box placement is having the back end of drag link attach to pitman arm very near the fixed end of leaf spring (not shackle end). This also reduces bump steer because axle and drag link pivot at same point, and follow same arc, so not much differential movement between axle and other end of drag link.
