I didn't realize that the 2nd gear in a 4 speed was lower (higher ratio) than 1st gear in a 3 speed. That is what makes what you have very usable. Good find!
I had a 3.08 with a 3 speed and it was a total slug in first gear.

I think he meant that 2nd in the 4 spd is now lower
because the rear end gears were also changed. Jeffrey
