Once they start leaking around the shaft, the only real fix is to disassemble the shocks and replace the seals. Dirt and grime over the years along with wear degrades the seal. You can try a heavier weight hydraulic oil like Lucas trans stop leak or power steering stop leak. I did....but they still leaked. Apple Hydraulics is the way to go.
