For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 11 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 11 | I just finished rebuilding my 1949 Chevy truck (retro-rod). I too wanted to run radial tires, but also questioned sizes. I ended up with BF Goodrich Silvertown wide whites. I utilized 15"x7" wheels with P215/70R15 radials up front and 15"x8" wheels with P235/70R15 radials in the rear. Photos of the truck are below. The axles and hubs are stock on both ends. After initial installation I decided to add 1.25" spacers on the front wheels to bring them out the same distance to the fenders as the rear tires. The truck most likely steers a little harder than stock, but I don't really know because I have never driven one with the stock wheels. http://s1057.photobucket.com/user/michaelzahn/library/
