In my opinion this is not a problem.
I'm running 19.5" wheels with 5/8" stud holes on my DRW 1 ton with original 1/2" clamp plates and studs. The wheels are hub centered.
Just rotated the wheels tight on the studs as if driving for the rear and the other way for the front as if braking. Then torque nuts to spec.
