The temperature sending unit connection is not the issue - never was. The problem is connecting the wires to the stud terminals of the temperature gauge itself. I thank Bartamos for his suggestions. I think the ring terminal suggestion is the best idea. After installing the ring terminal, put a short piece of small shrink wrap over the stud to prevent shorting things out, add a little heat - BINGO. Thanks guys ....problem solved.
