I have a ’49 Chevy 1 ton. Bodies never been redone. Lately I’ve noticed that the doors make an aRRRGHscreetch sound when opened. Passenger side is worse. I can see that it is the front edge of the door rubbing on the front of the cab. When closed the gap doesn’t look too bad.
Is this the door hinges giving out or could the front body mounts have given away a smidgen enough to effect the doors? When the door is opened and I lift it upward, the door hinges don’t move much at all. The front body mounts look fine, the cab doesn’t seem to have dropped. Is it just door adjustment or what should be my first assumption?
