Probably 228 engine, SN starts w/ displacement, R side, stamped in casting behind starter, i.e. 228xxxx, etc?, measure bed or get bed length, should be 4 speed w/ 8 lug wheels, torque tube drive?
Engine could have been replaced w/ larger engine up to 302 displacement, max.

'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
