Right, I think with that little diesel it'd do fine and drive better than stock but it's not going to compare to a new diesel pickup or even a somewhat more modern, say 70's or so 2 ton truck.
If you're looking for great performance in a useful 2 ton truck I'd be looking for at least a 6L engine with turbo, ideally newer than about mid 90's.
What are the goals, or intended use and expectations for the truck?
