hi, im taking my cab off, turned out to be more than I thought. I jacked it up to get 2x4's under it an get 4 guys to lift.i must be a lot older than I thought. its not hapining. buddy coming over sat with sidsteer.if I was smart, I would just raise cab. move frame with wheels lol
That's exactly the way I did my 1963 when I needed to swap the frame. After removing the bed and front clip, I jacked the whole thing up, built an A-Frame through the cab, unbolted the wheels and frame, installed bare rims and lowered the frame to the ground, and rolled it out.
Difference is that I was swapping the frame, not the cab. Unless you have room to have both cabs jacked up, my method wouldn't work. Well, maybe if you pulled the cab my way, then lowered it onto a dolly as described above, then wheeled the replacement cab into position then lifted it with jacks. Sounds like a lot of work.
