It is best to identify your truck in your posts so you can get more specific answers.

I like to use a factory shop manual and a Motors Truck Repair Manual for mechanical stuff. Compare the procedure in each then decide how is best for you to do it.

Also, some models have reproduction Factory Assembly Manuals which will show you how things go together.
