one gallon of base doesnt sound like alot. before i got my sanity back and decided to go flat black, i was gonna go ppg's winter mint the owner of the local paint supply told me i was going to need at least 2 gallons of base maybe more. when my buddy shot his 55 f-100 he used 2 1/2 gallons of base, but he also had a gaylords hard top for the bed also.
