Hi! New member here, and wanted to introduce myself. I am 60, retired, and have been playing fix-em-up with old junk cars and trucks for as long as I can remember. I started out being partial to GMs and mostly Chevys. I learned to drive in dads 1954 Bel Air convertible. My first car was a 1957 Chevy 210 2dr post with a 235. My first truck was a 1969 Chevy C10.
I was/am a design engineer and worked in the automotive industry, primarily with reinforced plastic components. As a supplier, I worked on conceptual design and development of the C3 and C4 Corvettes, and the Pontiac Fiero. Oddly, I ended up at Ford in Dearborn as a body engineer in Truck Operations in the late '80s and early '90s before starting my own design and engineering business.
I am now a hobby farmer and junk restorer. My current project is a 1950 Chevrolet 3804 one ton pickup. I am down to the bare frame. I have just finished painting it, and am working on replacing axle seals, renewing the brakes, and cleaning up chassis parts for painting and reassembly. I rebuilt the engine last winter, and it's waiting it's turn to be reinstalled.
I'm not very fast, and I get interrupted frequently by other projects, so this will be a long term restoration. Just wanted to say "Hi", and am looking forward to being part of the Stovebolt forum!
