I really had a time getting parking brake cables for my '47 due to the cable housing length. Before you modify anything, make sure the cable housing length and overall cable length are correct.
I went a different direction than Tim. I carefully ground the end of the cable housing to fit the cast bracket. I had to take off about a 1/16 of an inch. It was a slow process, grinding and checking for fit as I went.
The result was good for me as the cables work just fine.
