I have been piecing together a 235 for my 46. It is a 61 block. I am using a adapter plate to run the old style water pump. The harmonic balancer I have has a Grove wore in it where the lip seal rides.not to concerned as I can weld it up and turn it down to make it smooth again. I am more concerned about the size or O.D. The pulley ( belt sheave) is 6-3/4" O.D. And 5/8" wide . The directions says this is not recommended ,as it will turn the water pump to fast. I am not sure if I measured it the way the directions refer to. My balancer is 7-1/4" O.D. I am not sure if the directions refer to the pulley size O.D or the balancer O.D. It's all made together but the weighted part is larger than the pulley.
