I recently acquired a '58 261 that I removed from a '58 C60 Viking. The engine was original to the truck and it has a factory PCV system on it. On the passenger's side of the block where the draft tube normally is, there is a stand pipe with no draft tube on it that has a npt fitting in it with 90 screwed into it and then a metal PCV valve screwed into that. From there it's hard-piped across the valve cover to a fitting on the intake below the carburetor. I have no doubts that its a factory setup, I've just never seen anything like it before on any engine this old. Is this a rare piece or was it common on 261's of this vintage?
