"shorting out the electronics" ??????????????
1. When does it happen? Turning key on? starting? turning wheel? Lighting cigarette? Turn signal? Light switch? horn honk? radio? bumps in road? sasquatch?
2. What happens?
3. Fuses blown?
4. Sparking?
5. What are "the electronics" ?
6. " but that didn't fix it" What is it?
7. Did you test "it" after old wires out and before installing new wires in column?
