Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 1,038 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 1,038 | I don't know if that shift box at the back of the speedometer is the same as mine in my '50 COE but mine had dried up Lubriplate in it. I disassembled it and put new Lubriplate 130 in it. It is the same white lubricant used for screw type garage door openers which comes in a tooth paste type tube which you can get at a hardware store. For you M1 Garand collectors it is the same tan lubricant used in WWII that came in the little plastic tubs (not the later Korean War stuff that lookes like ordinary grease).
