On my '48 1 ton dually GMC I need to refresh the kingpins but I'm having problems finding repair parts.
My GMC maintenance manual lists the standard diameter as 0.9210-0.9214 and a length of 5-5/8"(5.625"). These are different dimensions from the Chevy 1tons which list the pins at 0.8660 x 5-3/16" (5.312"), though I can find a 9.210" sized set with a length of 5.125".
A parts search on RockAuto pulls up the same part numbers for both the GMC and the Chevy.
Will the 5.125" length pin work in place of the 5.312" one listed as the stock length?
Is my information on the pins and measurements correct?
