What years had the spring and the long threaded adjuster nut at the bottom of the t-handle release rod?
Brad, your two pics in your post appear to be two different designs, judging from the 90 degree twist in the locking bar in the second pic and the manner in which the bottom of t-handle is attached to the locking bar (one is threaded and the other is not). I am thinking that there is an error in the manual and the picture is actually for a '51. You would know better than I would, given all of the trucks you have pulled parts from.
