Only way around it is "Vanity Plates" and even then you will receive new regular plates every so often. In Oklahoma you must keep the regular plates in the vehicle even if you have "Vanity Plates". The justification as stated by Fourty9 is to make it easier for Law Enforcement to read your plate. Bunch of carp, just another way to raise taxes.
