Have a '53 3600 with stock front end also. Was given a great tip from someone here on the bolt, suggested swapping in a tie rod from a 1 ton which is a direct bolt on but has modern style tie rod ends. This gives you a bit more clearance when going with radial tires. If your truck is like mine EVERYTHING that attaches to the front axle will be worn out and in need of replacement, from leaf springs to steering box!!!!!
