For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 81 Member | | Member Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 81 | I just painted my truck and refinished the inside and outside of the Hood. I removed the strip that runs down the middle on the exterior to make sure that I got paint on all sides of that piece. It came off easy, just don't bend the tabs any more than you need to and protect the new paint with tape when re-installing this piece. On the inside I removed everything I could without drilling out any rivets, which I would be leary of. After removing the front latch mount and stiffener the hood was pretty floppy and you have to handle carefully, but it's doable. I don't think drilling the rvets to split the hood would be worth it to me. Just my $.02. | | |
