generic horn wiring involves 3 parts and 3 wires.

1. Horn switch assembly (horn button and contacts in the steering column normally).
2. Horn relay
3. Horn

The 3 wires are as follows:
1. One wire going from the horn switch assy to the relay, this provides the ground to the relay (to activate it)
2. Hot wire to the relay (hot all the time)
3. Hot wire going from the relay to the horn, this is only hot when the relay is activated by pushing the horn button.

If - ground, Hot is +, if + ground, then hot is -.
