Hi again,
Let me catch you up. There was a plate I had to remove before I could get To before I got the torque tube to slide back just enough to get a 3/8 wrench on the u-joint bolts. One of them gave me a fit. I had to notch it with a grinder to get a hold of it. Finally free, I found out how heavy that assembly is. I could se that the trans wasn't going to have enough room to come back so I had to drop the crossmember. Fairly easy but watch out. The TT is heavy and only goes one way. Down! I took off the clutch master cylinder when I found it frozen and unmovable.
It made getting to the trans bolts easier unhook the front of the clutch pedal spring to loosen the throughout arm. There are only 4 bolts that hold the trans to the bell housing. It's the crossmember out of the way, I made a sling out of ratchet straps to cradle the trans after I loosened the bolts. I ran a strap over the top of the cab for support. With the bolts out the trans slide free. I decided to go down(probably the wrong idea) I could have brought it us and out through the cab. But instead I lowered it onto a wheeled dolly and drug it out shifter handle intact.
