Zinc additives do not hurt during break-in.
But, it is not needed at all for normal driving 216/235/261.
Amen, Alvin, regarding synthetic oil in any stovebolt engine.

The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" --
this is a splash oiler.
