I have been searching for code/serial number info for a stovebolt engine, but I haven't had much luck, and more confusion. On the flat machined surface behind the distributor there are two sets of numbers stamped on top of each other. The first stampings are smaller and appear to be F0516J then on top of those is a slightly larger set of numbers that appear to read E15052 . Then just after that mess is stamped the number 21266 . Does anyone have a good link to decipher those numbers, or care to take a crack at decoding those? This engine came out of a 1958 Biscayne, but I don't know if that was the original engine for that car or not.
