| | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | A 1954 engine should use the high mount water pump. There will be a little more space between the fan and radiator with a Chevrolet engine in a GMC,but I have seen this swap work without heating problems.
I would look closely at the timing, and radiator condition.
