I wanted to put a right-hand outside mirror on my truck, so I ordered the parts for it. They arrived today, along with some other goodies (hello, unbroken window glass!)
The factory accessory instruction manual indicates that the inside "reinforcement" piece, which is a threaded block that goes behind the door skin, is part of the mirror accessory package. Before I pull all the interior trim off the door to find out if my door has one rattling around in there, I thought I'd check here: Was this actually included on all factory doors at some point, perhaps welded to the door frame, or is this something I'll need to find at a swap meet? I don't see it in reproduction being sold by the usual suspects.
The truck in question is a '59 3200. Thanks for any info.
