I have a 57 3600 that I have been through the same process that you looking at. I changed the original 4:57 gears out to 1972 4:10; changed the original 4 speed tranny to a 1984 T-5; and put 16"x7" AWC aluminum wheels on it with 235x85x16 steel belted radials. The wheels were maybe the hardest to find, however the 4:10 rearend would certainly be a close second. It all fits and works great and I am turning 2300 rpm at 65 mph on the hiway. I have a 59 261 ci engine in it and we make several two and three hour trips a year in it with no problem. Here is alink that shows how the wheels look on the truck.
