Same around here with local glass companies. Too high and I worry about it being the same thickness and shape.
I hear you on the cost,I tend to forget I buy my glass at net trade prices.(A perk of being in the 'biz)
Re: The correct shape,I actually templated my windshields from a set a friend bought from a large vendor and the fit was awful,so no guarantees there either i'm afraid.
(I can't remember who it was they came from though.)
