I would like to try my hand at painting. I have a craftsman paint gun (Model unknown) It is a suction type. I tried spraying some acrylic lacquer with it and it does not seem to spray quite right. It seems to be drying too fast because it has a sort of bumpy texture. I also tried shooting primer with it and it is even more textured. I tried adjusting the air/paint valves as well as the pressure but can't seem to get it right.

Any suggestions?

Also, what type of paint is easier for an amature? Enamel? Lacquer? What kind of primer?
