Hey Carl
I may have found the issue
When trying to get the truck started, I swapped a newly rebuilt carter carb in for the original Rochester that was installed. During some trouble shooting and because of the lack of power I had my son floor the gas pedal (engine off) to verify the linkage travel and stroke of the carb linkage. Full travel on both and the carb hits the stop
But, when looking down the carb, it only opens a quarter inch, at best. After checking the original Rochester carb, full stroke when actuated by hand pretty much rotates the throttle plate 90 deg.
So I am thinking interference with the insulator? Since the original carb wasn't the problem with starting, I will put it back in tomorrow
Your thoughts?
Thanks Lou
