| Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Modern Dana axles, like you have, have .25" larger hubs than the old ones with 10 on 7.25". I suppose one could bore out old style wheels, however, most choose to use modern tubeless wheels, 19.5's or 22.5's, since it is hard to get split rims in many places.
19.5" tires look undernourished on an old truck that had 20" split rims, so, it is best to look for 22.5's if that is ones application. One can use older nut plates on modern axles by boring them out to fit the modern hubs.
