Well, it is OK, as in better than primer for protection and will probably look fine from 6 feet away. It's YOUR truck.
The good thing about AD's is that they are curvy enough to look fine with just about any kind of paint.
If it really bothers you, just buy a little paint and do a fender or the tailgate to see if you like it.
