The 4 speed isn't synchromesh like the 3 speed. So, that is another factor to consider. IMO, if the plan is to use this as a daily driver or anything much more than a grin and drive, I'd opt for the 3 speed. I really like my '37 with a 4 speed, but at my age and now being spoiled by more driver friendly modern trucks, the 3 speed seems more attractive.
