Mine(52 1/2 ton) came with a ground wire on the motor case. 2 speed, self parking and worked fine(Classic Industries). Inline fuse included. Work fine but the collar on the drive tends to slip(winter ice did that). You can hook to the battery for a simple test, but you need to understand the switch for good results. Multiple wires on the motor, Slow, Fast and park(through a cam operated switch inside the motor). Can be confusing. Should have a diagram for install.
